"Playable Animations" is a mini-fighting game. It has one character that was put through many steps in order to be imported into the 2D fighting game-engine "M.U.G.E.N". The character was designed, 3D modeled, rigged, textured, then animated at 60fps. The reason cell shading was used was to save time. While the animations were 3D, they were rendered out and converted to work with the 2D game engine on a 255 color palette limit. Over 1400 frames of animation had to be put through the process to get smooth movement. Afterwards, the character was coded using simplistic controls for accessibility for those who don't necessarily a lot spend time to get the most out of fighting games. The game was also left loose to encourage new methods of combos. The game was made for a portfolio show within 10 weeks as the rest of the content was worked on for the show. With no more tight deadlines, less restrictive engine, and a possible team to work with, I hope as a side project to breathe new life into this small game.
